INCLINE VILLAGE, NV - December 16, 2013 - Frontline Systems Inc., a leading developer of analytics software including the Solver in Microsoft Excel, is pleased to announce that Dr. Nathan Brixius is joining the company in January 2014 in the key role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO), with responsiblity for all aspects of product design and development, technology choices, quality assurance, and release management.

Dr. Brixius was most recently Senior Vice President - Analytics Development at Nielsen, where his team built analytics platforms used worldwide by Nielsen analysts.  Prior to that, he spent 11 years at Microsoft, where he led the team shipping several releases of Microsoft Solver Foundation, and designed and developed key components of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Project Server.  He earned a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Iowa in 2000, where his thesis "Solving large-scale quadratic assignment problems" led to several awards, including the SIAG/OPT 2002 prize for most outstanding paper in the field of optimization.
