INCLINE VILLAGE, NV -- December 30, 2014 -- Frontline Systems has released XLMiner Analysis ToolPak as a free app for Excel Online and Office 365, available in the Office App Store, and a free add-on for Google Sheets, available in the Chrome Web Store.

The new tool makes it easy for users to perform statistical analyses of the same types available in the Analysis ToolPak add-in that has been part of Microsoft Excel for over 20 years.  Scores of statistics courses, textbooks, tutorials and online videos have introduced users to common statistical techniques using the Excel Analysis ToolPak.  But its functions are missing from both Excel Online and Google Sheets.  Frontline's new tool fills this gap, providing all 19 interactive functions included in the Excel Analysis ToolPak, plus a 20th function often requested by users, logistic regression.

"We’ve brought an 'old favorite' in statistics forward into 2015 and the world of web spreadsheets," said Daniel Fylstra, Frontline's President and CEO.  "It's a gift to users, hoping that they will take a look at our XLMiner Platform software."  XLMiner Platform is a very powerful tool for data mining and text mining in Microsoft Excel, that Frontline is also bringing to the web.

The 20 functions in XLMiner Analysis ToolPak include sampling, descriptive statistics, analysis of variance (ANOVA), correlation and covariance, forecasting via exponential smoothing, moving averages, linear regression and logistic regression, random number generation using the Mersenne Twister, Fourier analysis, and statistical tests such as the F-test, T-test and Z-test.  Each function reads data from, and writes results to the spreadsheet in user-selected cell ranges.

Frontline Systems Inc. (https://www.solver.com) is the leader in spreadsheet-based analytics software, helping managers gain insights and make better decisions for an uncertain future.  Its products integrate forecasting and data mining for "predictive analytics," Monte Carlo simulation and risk analysis, and conventional and stochastic optimization for "prescriptive analytics."  Frontline developed the solvers/optimizers in Microsoft Excel, Lotus 1-2-3 and Quattro Pro, distributed to more than 1 billion spreadsheet users.  Founded in 1987, Frontline is based in Incline Village, Nevada (775-831-0300).
